Mistress Servalan discusses and demonstrates discipline to the palms of the hand during this eight-minute video. She discusses the various benefits of this traditional form of scholastic discipline, points out the precise parts of the palm to strike, suggests various implements (especially leather straps), demonstrates different techniques (along with some verbal instruction!), and addresses aftercare as well.

This video was fabulous. Mistress Servalan is engaging and a total pleasure to watch. I really liked her explanation of follow-through after the discipline was done, too.
Excellent video on a topic I had not ever seen practiced. I’m curious to ask, when the hand is in the traditional Scottish pose, it seems as if the fingers are getting the majority of the brunt of the tawes. Perhaps it was just the view in the video, but just wanted to clarify.
Yay – thanks for the kind comments :)
I’ll check with charlotte for confirmation but I believe that because the end of the tawse lands on the heel of the hand (the “meatiest” part) the main force of the blow is absorbed there rather than the fingers… though they will certainly sting too.
