This 15-minute clip concludes Barry Smiler’s presentation on polyamory, swinging, and alternative sexuality. It begins with an audience member suggesting that the various terms Smiler has discussed (polyamory, swinging, etc.) can co-exist instead of necessarily being distinct and different from each other. In response to a similar, follow-up question, Smiler suggests that simplifying terms is necessary from a research basis — but he also argues that the terms themselves are eventually going to disappear in the future, and instead the current kinky community will be seen as an “incubator” that brings about a renaissance of sexual understanding.
