This is the second part of the 2011 history panel containing the following IMsL titleholders: Judy Tallwing-McCarthy (1987), Shan Carr (1988), Gabrielle Antolovich (1990), Amy Marie Meek (1993; IMsL owner 1995-2006), Spencer Bergstedt (1994), Pat Baillie (1995), Jill Carter (1996), Megan (Dejarlais) Martin (1998), and Pam Meyer (1999). Leather Yenta moderates this panel and asks if any of the former titleholders would run again. Spencer Bergstedt, Pat Baillie, Jill Carter, Megan Martin, and Pam Meyer respond. Leather Yenta also asks the panel where IMsL should go from here.
Highlights include Spencer Bergstedt discussing his reason for stepping down as titleholder, Pat Baillie’s journey from the military to the IMsL contest; Jill Carter’s tales about how she earned her cover, embraced the “Each One, Teach One” philosophy and assisted with fundraising for Leather Archives & Museum; Pam Meyer discussing being a LeatherDyke in the 1980s amid the anti-S/M feminist movement; the panel’s discussion of the evolving culture of public play spaces; and Gabrielle Antolovich discovering that there was an inaccurate rumor she was a Separatist and what she learned from the experience.
